AJ Food Bank’s Mission
Apache Junction Reach Out, Incorporated in 1983 and became a 501©(3) – a federally recognized nonprofit organization. It has been accepting donations of food and distributing it to the hungry in the Apache Junction area for 35 years. Primarily evolving and advancing by hundreds of volunteers, the AJ Food Bank, as it is known today, now works with United Food Bank and upwards of 15 major grocers and stores to stock its shelves and feed about 14,000 families each year. Providing food monthly for 3 to 5 days for families of all sizes inside our boundaries has been ongoing achievement for several years. The AJFB now employs two full-time and three part-time staff members and more than 100 volunteers give no less than 14,000 hours annually to our organization. The Mission has remained the same for more than three decades – to Feed the Hungry in the East Valley with Dignity and Respect.
